About Womankind:

Womankind uses the multidimensionality of its Asian heritage to work alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they build a path to healing. They are working tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice.

Womankind was founded nearly 45 years ago in New York City for Asian women by Asian women during a time when nothing of its kind existed on the East Coast. Today, Womankind specializes in serving Asian survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), including domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence, but what they offer is valuable to all. Womankind offers a wide variety of trauma-informed services to about 2,900 survivors annually in English, Spanish, and 18+ Asian languages and dialects.
